The Big Kahuna – Tandem Axle 12ft x 6ft Braked Trailer is the largest standard tandem in the Lucca range, built for serious hauling where space and capacity really matter. With its 12ft x 6ft internal box and 2000kg payload, it can comfortably handle big, bulky loads that smaller trailers struggle with. The extra size can easily fit two water tanks or a Polaris-style farm vehicle when used with suitable ramps and tie-downs. Fully welded and hot-dipped galvanised, the Big Kahuna is designed as a true workhorse for demanding commercial, rural and serious DIY use.

• 2000kg payload and approx. 600–700kg tare, giving a heavy-duty tandem trailer in the 2600–2700kg ATM range 
• 12ft x 6ft internal box size (approx. 3640mm x 1828mm) with 300mm-high sides, providing extra length and width for larger loads and farm vehicles.
• 2.5mm checker plate floor and 300mm-high sides, fully welded chassis and hot-dipped galvanised finish for strength and corrosion resistance.
• Tandem axle with mechanical or electric brakes (depending on final spec) and 14" commercial-rated wheels/tyres for stable, controlled towing.
• Side running boards and checker-plate mudguards you can stand on, plus side and rear pipes or rails for tie-downs.
• LED lights mounted on the outer edges and amber/red/white reflectors to NZ standards, so you can legally carry longer loads with tailgates lowered.
• Standard NZ/AU 1 7/8" tow ball coupling and 7-pin plug, with 50mm or dual coupling available at extra cost.
• Hinged/removable front and rear tailgates, multiple tie-down points and optional H-frame holders for flexible loading and securing.

This tandem axle braked trailer has a 12ft x 6ft box, making it the largest tandem in the Lucca range and ideal for bigger jobs, bulkier loads and farm vehicles that outgrow smaller trailers. With a 2000kg payload and a tare in the 600–700kg range (depending on final configuration), it offers serious capacity while still towing well behind suitably rated utes and trucks. The body uses a 2.5mm checker plate floor and 300mm-high sides with a fully welded chassis, all hot-dipped galvanised for long-term strength and corrosion protection. It runs on a tandem-braked axle setup with 14" commercial-rated wheels and standard NZ/AU coupling and 7-pin plug, delivering stable, confident towing when loaded and tied down correctly.

Accessories and upgrade options

You can configure the Big Kahuna with a range of practical extras to suit your work. A 900mm removable cage can be added to contain bulky or loose loads like green waste, lighter materials or boxed goods. Ramps allow you to safely load ATVs, side-by-sides and small machinery onto the large deck area. Additional tie-downs, H-frame options and toolboxes can be fitted so you can secure long items, store gear and keep everything organised on site. As with other Lucca tandems, 50mm or dual couplings can be supplied to match your tow vehicle requirements at extra cost.
